DESECRATION OF ISRAELI CEMETERY: DEMONSTRATION ANNOUNCED

The Central Rabbinical Congress of the United States and Canada has announced the first of several public demonstrations to protest the excavation of an Ancient Jewish Cemetery in Acco, Israel and to show that all Jews are NOT Zionists and that Zionism does not represent the Jewish people.

Speaking for the group, Rabbi Stern explained that a railroad crossing outside the town of Acco (near Haifa) was being upgraded. “Instead of building an overpass, the municipality insisted on a tunnel” the spokesman stated, “in spite of early indications and historical documents describing the site as a Jewish cemetery dating back to the era of the Second Temple”. Once digging began, the existence of the large burial ground was confirmed.

The picketing is scheduled for Thursday, October 21, 2004 at 2:30 pm in front of the Israeli Embassy, 800 Second Avenue, New York City, NY.
